Traveling make-up!

So from time to time I will travel for beauty. This November I went to Cancun Mexico for a wedding. My boyfriend and I went as guests along with 28 of the couples close friends and family. This was my first time to Mexico and was looking forward to the white sand clear water, my last tropical destination was Jamaica in May 2009. I hope to one day visit all the tropical beaches in the Caribbean and surrounding areas. The wedding day was sunny and warm, a gentle breeze kept everyone cool.
When it comes to make-up in heat, less is more. Most brides want to keep their look natural and simple so this was ideal in these conditions. So, packing before the trip is different. It was a first for me to travel outside Canada/USA, so a lighter kit was a must. Vancouver International Airport allows you to carry on liquids 100ml or less. That's fine, if your an average person... for a make-up artist it is a bit challenging. Plus, you want to carry on as much as possible due to the chance of losing your checked luggage.
I packed eye shadows, blush, compact (wet to dry) foundations etc... in my carry on. Everything else went into checked luggage. I asked the bride to pass on a message for all in the party to bring their own foundation and mascara (this lightens your load with liquids and mascara wands), these are items they will probably bring regardless. The look was soft and fresh, with glowing skin. The dresses were sage green and the brides was a light ivory. All these girls had sky-blue/teal greens for eye color (so lucky), I used shimmery peaches for a color pallet and a hint of green for the bride. Neutral cheeks and lips with gloss.
All in all the wedding day was great! I had room service deliver champagne and pineapple juice and a continental breakfast. Something extra to show you care :) It's all about the details! Here are some snap shots of the wedding!

Some snap shots from around my apartment. I recently decorated for Christmas and found this year was a bit simpler then last. I decided to use some crafts form my make-up craft bin(odd items found in thrift/dollar stores) and mix it up. The vase was easy... Red and Violet are great together and spice up Silver and gold accents. You can apply this look to make-up too! Try red lips and Violet eyes... some silver/gold shimmer and you have a great look for the holiday dinner or party!I used to think I would get into interior design as I do love to decorate! I also have a knack for finding the perfect piece at under $10!
Best dollar store.... Coquitlam Center- outside the mall by H&M. Great ideas in there!
